COVID-19

Information about how we are operating throughout the COVID-19 crisis. Updated regularly.

The safety and health of our volunteers and clients are of paramount importance. Whilst the listening, signposting and praying for clients that usually happens at our Foodbank centres is absolutely at the heart of our operation, during this unprecedented time of National Emergency due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus, the trustees and management team of Chelmsford Foodbank believe that it is in everyone’s best interest to move towards a pre-packed doorstep delivery service. This will mean there are fewer opportunities for social interaction and spread of infection.

We have now closed 4 of our centres. At present, Grove Road is still open on Wednesday and Friday mornings between 10:00 and 12:30 pm.

Those requiring food still need to access a referral agency for a voucher who will then advise of the process to access food.

We are still here to provide food for those who are struggling to afford it and are rolling out a doorstep delivery service.

We are still in need of donations, our top three most needed items are UHT milk, instant mash, tinned potatoes. Our warehouse is now open daily, from 9.30am-2.30pm.
